The Saying of Fathers:
    This is the mark of Christianity--however much a man toils, and however many righteousnesses he performs, to feel that he has done nothing, and in fasting to say, "This is not fasting," and in praying, "This is not prayer," and in perseverance at prayer, "I have shown no perseverance; I am only just beginning to practice
and to take pains"; and even if he is righteous before God, he should say, "I am not righteous, not I; I do not take pains, but only make a beginning every day."

Today’s Wisdom:
v      The eyes of the cheerful and of the melancholy man are fixed upon the same creation; but very different are the aspects which it bears to them.
v      The best remedy for those who are afraid, lonely or unhappy is to go outside, somewhere where they can be quiet, alone with the heavens, nature and God. Because only then does one feel that all is as it should be.
v      Feeling sorry for yourself, and your present condition, is not only a waste of energy but the worst habit you could possibly have.

أقوال الآباء:  قال شيخٌ: «إذا ما رفض الذهنُ أوامرَ الروحِ القدس تَبعُد القوةُ ذاتها، وتثور أوجاعُ القلبِ. فإذا ما رجع القلبُ إلى اللهِ وحفظ أوامرَ الروحِ القدس كان عليه سِترٌ، وحينئذ يعلمُ الإنسانُ أن مداومةَ ذكرِ اسمِ القدوس ربنا يسوع المسيح هو الذي يحرسه تحت سِترِ رحمتهِ
